A Bushfire Grant Program has recently been announced to provide support for increasing tourism to fire affected regions. On the YP, this is open to group[s and individuals in the Yorke Peninsula Council region.YP Tourism is eligible to apply for grant funding. We will act as a conduit for the applications, where those applying for grants come to us and we will complete the application and lodge it on your behalf.  You may either undertake something new or make a planned event bigger – the primary goal is to show a potential to increase visitors to our fire affected region.  This is a great opportunity. Grant applicants will need to complete most of the application. We’re happy to help you but you will be delivering the events.

The grants are “for bespoke events, concerts, festivals and/or other visitor attractions (such as art installations and tourist walks) in fire affected regions to assist the recovery effort. The aim is to support initiatives in fire affected areas that celebrate what’s unique about that local community to give international and/or domestic visitors a reason to visit and return, bringing the economic benefits of tourism, but also providing the community with a positive focus in the wake of the fires”
