Renowned to be The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, the Calgary Stampede in Alberta Canada is embarking on their annual travel trade sales missions down under, as their head of international sales, Lindsay Jardine touches down in Australia this week, whilst celebrating her 20th year with Calgary Stampede.
Australia continues to be the Calgary Stampede’s #2 overseas market, sitting just behind the UK – contributing to Stampede’s 1.3 million visitors last year.
Lindsay is always a standout at Destination Canada’s Corroboree agent events, donning her cowboy boots, cowboy hat and often accompanied by one of Stampede’s First Nation Princesses or Canadian country music entertainer. With Canada’s Corroboree schedule now taking place every two years, Calgary Stampede felt it was still very important to visit Australia on the events off-year, mixing with key members of the travel trade, who contribute to the successful sales out of the Australian market.
Calgary Stampede’s sales mission will see Lindsay visit Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, training key accounts reservations and sales staff ahead of the busy booking season. Lindsay will be meeting with Helloworld, Flight Centre, Travel Corporation and many independent FIT operators selling Stampede.

Calgary Stampede is also renowned for Indigenous culture through Elbow River Camp, where 26 tipis are set up by the First Nations of Treaty Seven welcoming visitors to learn of their traditional storytelling, dance, hand games, cooking and crafts.
