Spread the love

The Mexican holiday of Dia de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead, is about remembering loved ones who have passed on, but it’s also a time of celebration — of being joyful about life, death and memory instead of mourning what was lost.

The National Museum of the American Indian’s New York outpost is still closed because of the pandemic, but to mark Dia de los Muertos, they’ll be streaming a weekend long Day of the Dead Festival on their Facebook and YouTube channels. Highlights include a lesson on Dia de los Muertos basics via the museum’s folklorist, a seminar on making paper marigold flowers and a virtual ofrenda where you can leave photos of your loved ones who have crossed over.
