Melbourne & Olympic Parks (M&OP) – home to some of Australia’s top sporting and entertainment events, including the Australian Open Grand Slam – has announced it will showcase its new state-of-the-art events centre, CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park, at PAICE 2019, held in Auckland, New Zealand, on 19 November.

Located only minutes away from Melbourne’s dynamic CBD, CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park is connected by path, rail, road and river – an entertainment hub architecturally designed to embody Australia’s native landscape and capture the city’s vibrant culture.

“Melbourne is blended together by world-renowned coffee, celebrated culinary dishes, and Aussie sporting and entertainment events. Being only a few hours flight away from New Zealand, we are so excited to meet with delegates at PAICE and showcase how we can create unforgettable experiences for their upcoming events,” said Lara Burnes, General Manager, Premier Events & Experiences.

With the culinary experience at its core, CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park boasts a state-of-the-art production kitchen for unique dining experiences. Curated by Delaware North Executive Chef Asif Mamun, the venue’s menu will be designed around its Paddock to Plate philosophy, which will see the team focus on locally sourced and seasonal produce individually designed for each event. The gastronomy experience will be complemented with Victorian wines, locally brewed beers, small batch spirits and premium Melbourne-based coffee roasters.

“Whether you’re looking to plan a large-scale conference or design an intimate dinner, our indoor and outdoor function spaces are suitable for any event. Construction is already under way to build the steel skeleton of our venue, and we cannot wait to host our Pacific neighbours here soon with unparalleled event experiences,” said Burnes.

Catering for 10–3000 guests, CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park’s main ballroom can be transformed into any configuration for an event, seating up to 1400 guests for a gala dinner and up to 3000 for a cocktail party. Furthermore, the new venue will stream natural light across the event space, while floor to ceiling windows invite the surrounding flora and fauna in.

Part of a multiyear $972 million redevelopment, CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park will join the precinct’s impressive line-up of world-class venues including Rod Laver Arena, AAMI Park, Margaret Court Arena and Melbourne Arena.

Scheduled for completion in late 2021, bookings are now open for February 2022 and beyond. For more information on CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park visit centrepiecemelbourne.com.au.
