Brisbane: lots of staycation ideas.

After what has been a very challenging year, it’s more important than ever to take the time to relax, recharge and reset.

Start the new year with a short stay in easy reach of your home — a staycation if you will. Here are some Brisbane staycation ideas to get the revitalisation flowing:

Queensland’s capital of cool has plenty of city temptations — including a day-trip getaway to the Great Barrier Reef, packages to enhance your skills and the freedom to escape with the whole family, no matter how furry.

Treat yourself and your loved one by combining city luxury with an island paradise.

The ‘All Reefed Up’ package has seen the W Hotel in Brisbane city and Lady Elliot Island team up to offer a two-night stay at the funky W Hotel in Brisbane packaged with a day trip via a scenic flight to stunning Lady Elliot Island (offer valid until April).

Wine and dine in style when you stay at Ovolo the Valley and walk away with a new skill to share with your next dinner guests.

The hotel has packaged up a Wine Blending Workshop at The City Winery as part of their staycation offer which also includes an in-room massage, picnic hamper, dinner for two and cocktail masterclass.

The Emporium Hotel South Bank is one of the pinnacles of staycation aspiration in Brisbane.

Whether you choose the romance package, a girl’s shopping weekend or the ultraluxe helicopter experience, the special offers and packages have your staycation covered.

For the ultimate luxe retreat, however, check into the new Parklands Suite, offering 786 square metres of pure indulgence, sweeping views of Brisbane city, and private balcony complete with a 15 metre infinity pool.

Wine and art: increasingly matched.

While food and wine have long been hailed as the perfect pair, art and wine are becoming an equally sought-after combination, with wine lovers seeking to experience a full-bodied sensory experience that includes tasting the finest drops while bearing witness to thought-provoking works of art.

It’s not surprising that a deep appreciation of wine and art often go hand-in-hand.

Both art and wine require a discerning mind and an intuitive soul, their complexities only discovered by someone with the curiosity and willingness to carefully consider their intricate layers.
