China Southern Airlines has celebrated its eighth year as sponsor of the Sydney Festival – which continues through to Monday 27 January – with a spectacular event at Parramatta Park.

The airline, which sponsors the Festival’s free program, is one of the main sponsors of the hugely popular Symphony Under the Stars, with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

China Southern’s new regional general manager, Will Zhang, was delighted to open the concert last Saturday.

“We are hugely grateful to the festival for providing us with such a wonderful sponsorship opportunity; it’s a great way to celebrate Sydney’s magical summer with high quality free shows and performances”.

As a part of the festivities, the airline is giving away two complimentary business class tickets to Guangzhou.  To enter, you simply log a ride and then tell the airline in 25 words or less why you want to fly to the moon! The most creative answer will win. For details and to enter, click here.

China Southern Airlines is a regular sponsor of Australian cultural and sporting institutions and is also a sponsor of the Adelaide Crows and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

China Southern is the world’s fifth largest airline, with 820 jets in the fleet and last year transported passengers on over 139 million journeys.  In Australia and New Zealand, the airline services 8 cities on 90 flight routes, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Cairns, Auckland and Christchurch.
