At ITB Berlin, the world’s leading travel trade show, held this year on March 6, Zhuhai, China-based Gree Dong’ao Hotel received the Europe Spa Certification from The European Spas Association (ESPA) for its thalassotherapy spa center. The center had passed the ESPA’s tests to become the first ESPA-certificated facility in the Asia Pacific region.
ITB Berlin is recognized as the tourism industry’s key annual gathering event, consistently attracting travel professionals with decision-making power from the four corners of the globe.
Zhuhai Gree Group Co., Ltd. Vice President Wang Yonghua, Zhuhai Gexin Development Co., Ltd. Chairman Cheng Min and Gree Dong’ao Hotel Deputy General Manager Chen Chunchang attended the event at which they gave presentations on the hotel.
“Gree Dong’ao Hotel is a model of the kind of hotels that Gree Group, the largest state-owned enterprise in Zhuhai, plans to build, as part of the group’s tourism development plan for Dong’ao Island. We are honored to learn of the recognition of the hotel’s brand-new thermal thalassotherapy center by the authoritative international Spa organization,” said the Vice President, Mr. Wang, at the event.
The Europe Spa Certification is ESPA’s official stamp of approval and is considered the most demanding certification in the medical spa sector. Developed based on standards in over 50 countries worldwide and on international laws, the world’s most coveted professional spa certification is designed to recognize projects that meet at least 80 per cent of all the qualified standards.
China’s Gree Dong’ao Hotel receives APAC’s first Europe Spa Certification
The ESPA-certified thalassotherapy spa center, one of the key projects under the aegis of Gree Dong’ao Hotel, includes indoor and outdoor baths, stone baths, spa treatment, foot massage as well as dry and wet steam rooms. The facilities at the center can provide natural healing effects by using natural salt, combining the ocean’s vitality with spa experiences and delivering a comfortable in-water experience through integration with the scenic surroundings.
The facility has already gotten extensive positive feedback from customers since its initial launch on January 10, 2019. With the granting of the spa certification, Gree Dong’ao Hotel is expected to increase its appeal to both Chinese and international tourists who pursue high quality vacation experiences.
