It is not clear when the first leisure tourists from China will visit Europe again following the lifting of border controls in Europe. However, for almost two million Chinese living in the EU with residence permits, travelling and shopping has already become possible again. Some countries including Ireland, Greece and Serbia are already open for all Chinese citizens.
COTRI China Outbound Tourism Research Institute is proud to have started a cooperation with PLANET, one of the leading international payment service providers, offering digital payment solutions and VAT refunds for international customers in more than 60 countries. Together COTRI and PLANET will jointly support the retail and tourism industry in the recovery process, especially with respect to the Chinese market.
To prepare for the new Chinese travellers and their changed demand and behaviour in post-CoViD-19 times, PLANET recommends the CTT China Tourism Training-Retail, developed by COTRI in cooperation with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Hotel and Tourism Management, to all their partners.
