Following its incredible success in Hong Kong, the disruptive and award-winning hotel collection, Ovolo Group, is set to launch its innovative brand Mojo Nomad in Australia. Mojo Nomad South Yarra will bring a unique and exciting concept to the city of Melbourne and will become the brand’s signature flagship property, once completed in mid-2020.

The Mojo Nomad experience is designed to break barriers and rules, challenge the status quo; it is unapologetically different, taking Ovolo Group and its founder Girish Jhunjhnuwala’s own path irrespective of convention. It goes above and beyond to offer the best of the design hotel experience coupled with numerous accommodation options, innovative F&B and community focused spaces by activating environments and allowing the future traveller to have a sense of self – the freedom to choose and live life their way.

This social hot-spot will offer approximately 100 rooms which is an eclectic mix of sophisticated accommodation from beds, rooms, large rooms to suites options young professional and global nomads to be inspired by others on their travels.

Located in the heart of Melbourne’s cultural hub of South Yarra and Toorak, Mojo Nomad is a hop-skip and a jump away from Chapel St and public transport hubs giving the 21st century traveller unparalleled access to the city centre, and promises to electrify the iconic local neighbourhood.

Keeping with the brand’s commitment to integrating the latest in technology, value-added services, functionality and design, residents of Mojo Nomad South Yarra will never want for a place to plug in.

The design dream team of Woods Bagot Architect and renowned interior designers Luchetti Krelle have designed each room with a distinct personality and to be equipped with all the needs of the future traveller whilst the shared rooms offer the utmost in privacy within the confined space boasting, privacy screens, TVs, reading lights and Bluetooth headphone capabilities.

All communal space aspirations have been fully integrated into the design of the building, along with residential areas that also include a cinema room, library, gym and lounge for residents.

Brokered by Savills’ Michael Simpson the project will be realised by Nick Argyrou of Argo Group and building firm Hickory Group, and managed by Drenka Andjelic of Construction Assignment and Pomoroy Pacific.

With Mojo Nomad, Ovolo Group paves the way for a disruptive design hotel concept, offering imaginative environments that encourage guests to connect with new people, ideas and holistic experiences, uniting them within stylish communal spaces. Surrounded by gripping interiors and art, the senses are invigorated, and an inimitable atmosphere of engaging like-mindedness is created.

The Mojo Nomad has been extremely well received since its inception in Hong Kong from 2017 and already successfully operates two Mojo Nomad properties in the city. In 2018, it won top accolades at two major design awards, recognising the brand’s excellence in hospitality, design and innovation.  Mojo Nomad Central, won in the category of “Best Guest Room Focused Service” at Boutique Design magazine’s Gold Key Awards in New York, and the Mojo Nomad brand received recognition for “Graphic Design” in Corporate Identity and Branding, with a Gold Award at the Hong Kong Design Awards. Ovolo has commenced the 12-month building project for Mojo Nomad South Yarra, with a view to launch to market in mid-2020.
