Due to the continuing global pandemic, government restrictions still in force, and the lockdown of many countries and ports around the world, Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) has taken the decision to further extend the suspension of all its worldwide cruises from 1st July to 25th August 2020.

To date, there have been no reported cases of coronavirus on any of CMV’s small to medium sized ships. All ships in the fleet are currently situated in their home ports, with most of the fleet currently berthed in London Tilbury.

“Throughout this pandemic, our top and overriding priority has been the health and safety of guests and crew and safely repatriating those on board our ships,” says Managing Director of CMV Australia, Dean Brazier.

“We are hopeful that we will be able to resume service after August 25 and, at this stage, we are optimistic that Vasco da Gama will still come to Australia for her 2020/21 cruise season, arriving in Sydney on November 30.

“We look forward to hopefully championing domestic tourism within Australia this summer, by bringing our guests to regional ports, including smaller, less-common destinations such as Wallaroo in South Australia.”

CMV continue to employ shipboard officers and crew members throughout the suspension period, and the cruise line is looking forward to welcoming guests back on board soon.

All passengers affected by the extended suspension are being offered an attractive future cruise credit of up to 125% of the amount paid for the cruising holiday, valid until 31st March 2021. This is redeemable against the best deal of the day including the Buy One Get One Free offers, applicable on all sailings in 2020, 2021 or 2022 when the program is released later this year.

“We are extremely proud to see that 70% of our passengers affected by the cancellation of their cruise have either re-booked a 2020 or 2021 cruise,  or opted for a Future Cruise Credit giving them the peace of mind that they can choose a new cruise holiday at a later date,” said Dean Brazier.

Peace of Mind Booking Guarantee

CMV has also updated its Peace of Mind Booking Guarantee for sailings departing up to 30th September 2020. This allows passengers with existing fully-paid bookings the chance to transfer, without charge, up to seven days prior to the sail date to any 2020, 2021 or 2022 sailing and to receive up to a 125% Future Cruise Credit. New bookings made for cruises departing up to 30 September 2020 will have the option to receive all monies paid as a Future Cruise Credit, should guests change their mind about travelling. Future Cruise Credits are valid to 31st March 2021. Terms & conditions apply.
