Due to the continued global pandemic outbreak of COVID-19 (coronavirus), government restrictions still in force, and the lockdown of many countries and ports around the world, Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) has taken the decision to further extend the suspension of all of its worldwide cruises, from May 25 to June 30 2020.

This will apply to CMV cruises across the globe, and all affected passengers are being contacted with an offer of compensation which includes a future cruise credit to the value of 125% of their cruise fare*.

“Due to the continued global pandemic, we are still unable to perform our scheduled itineraries and to deliver the travel experience normally enjoyed by our valued passengers,” says global CEO Christian Verhounig.

“We have therefore taken the decision to temporarily further suspend all cruises until 30th June 2020, when we very much hope to be able to resume service.”

The cruise line’s top and overriding priority throughout the pandemic has been the health and safety of passengers and crew. The suspension was first introduced on March 14, and all CMV cruises have now been suspended for nearly three and a half months. All of the ships in CMV’s global fleet have returned to their home ports in the UK & Germany, and there have been no cases of COVID-19 on any of CMV’s ships.

“We would like to thank our guests and travel agent partners for their tremendous support and understanding throughout this period,” says Managing Director of CMV Australia, Dean Brazier.

“We look forward to resuming service again later this year and once again giving our guests the privilege of travel, especially to the regions in Australia that have been so affected by absence of tourism, due to the pandemic as well as the bushfires.”

CMV continue at present to employ shipboard officers and crew members throughout this suspension period, and the cruise line is looking forward to welcoming all guests back on board as soon as travel is encouraged.

In light of the extended suspension of cruises, CMV has also extended its Peace of Mind Booking Guarantee to allow guests to postpone their holiday and receive additional benefits. The policy offers guests with existing bookings on cruises scheduled to depart before August 31 2020 the option to transfer fee-free and receive up to a 125% future cruise credit.
