Como Conversations Continue With ‘The Three Tenures’ At Como The Treasury Perth

October 30, 2020 Hotel News No Comments Email Email

On Tuesday 3rd November, COMO Conversations will see its second edition at COMO The Treasury with an evening featuring three of Perth’s most prominent arbiters of multi arts programming: Shelagh Magadza, Wendy Martin and Iain Grandage – all of whom have held tenure as Artistic Director of Perth Festival.

‘The Three Tenures’ will share their stories of navigating the path for the oldest festival in the Southern Hemisphere, offering a chance to hear about the thrill of a momentous commission and tough artistic decisions.

COMO Conversations, a series of talks, workshops and collaborative events, connects guests with inspirational thought leaders on the topics of wellness, sustainability, design and creativity. The events are designed to stimulate curiosity by tapping into thought-provoking stories by artists, authors and innovators in COMO’s dynamic destinations.

“The Three Tenures” evening will be led by award-winning journalist and interviewer Meri Fatin. She has interviewed the likes of author Margaret Atwood and broadcaster Dr Michael Mosley, though she says that it’s the “achingly honest conversations” she’s had with lesser-known names that have been her career highlights.

“We are thrilled to be hosting this event at COMO The Treasury”, says Hotel Manager, Jesse Tibert. “COMO The Treasury is the centrepiece of Perth’s iconic State Buildings, the city’s cultural hub, so it feels very fitting that we will be hosting a discussion with such a formidable panel of creatives”.

“Perth is full of creative, agile and innovative thinkers, and people really live and breathe art and culture here”, explains Fatin. “It’s incredibly exciting that we are bringing together three former and current artistic directors of Perth Festival for the first time. The Artistic Director role holds the weight of all our expectations, so I know the evening is going to be full of wonderful stories.”
