Visiting the UNESCO World Heritage site of Angkor Wat is a must-see on any trip to Cambodia. Built in the 12th Century, it is believed to be the world’s largest religious site stretching over 400km2 and with more than 45 temples. Reclaimed by the jungle for centuries until 1860, the intricate bas-reliefs, temples and giant smiling Buddha faces create a uniquely photogenic site.

Expedition vessels are not always able to travel up Tonle Sap Lake to Siem Reap when water levels are low. Now Aqua Expeditions guarantees that travellers won’t miss out on seeing the lost city with the offer of free flight extensions to Siem Reap on four of its luxurious Aqua Mekong itineraries.

Aqua Expeditions is the only Mekong cruise provider that offers complimentary flight extensions to Siem Reap for all itineraries ending in Phnom Penh. At no extra cost, guests will travel in a luxury car transfer to Phnom Penh Airport after disembarking on the last day. Once in Siem Reap, home of Angkor Wat, guests will also have the chance to discover the vibrant local art scene, trendy restaurant and bars, as well as visit local workshops and the Old Market at their leisure.

Aboard the award-winning Aqua Mekong, guests travel in modern-day luxury. All 20 suites feature full-length windows offering spectacular panoramas of the Mekong scenery, the dining experiences are crafted by Michelin-starred consulting chef David Thompson, and with the only private fleet of launch boats on the Mekong river, the offshore excursions are truly bespoke.

“Angkor Wat is the heart and soul of Cambodia” says Francesco Galli Zugaro, founder and CEO of Aqua Expeditions, “so we have decided to offer all our guests this upgrade to their experience at no extra charge.”

The free flight extensions are available on the following four itineraries:

  • 4-night Phnom Penh to Siem Reap (extension)
  • 4-night Ho Chi Minh to Siem Reap (extension)
  • 3-night Phnom Penh to Siem Reap (extension)
  • 7-night Ho Chi Minh to Siem Reap (extension)

The luxe upgrades are available on any of these four itineraries from March 27, 2020. They will complement the already unique journey on board the Aqua Mekong, which allows a deep delve into Cambodia’s history and culture with the assistance of expert English-speaking guides and local connections.
