Consortium of India B2B

January 17, 2018 Headline News No Comments Email Email

Nine veteran b2b travel companies operating in different tourist regions of India are giving a tough competition to online travel companies and big DMCs by offering quality indigenous tours through their Indiab2b consortium.

Deepak Gupta, CEO, Heat Flexi Holidays, told eGTMedia at India International Travel & Tourism event in Mumbai,: “In our third year of forming the consortium, we have beaten makemytrip in number of clients handled for a trip to Bhutan by more than fifty percent.  All of the consortium partners are tourism experts in their respective regions and have 20 plus years of successful operations that complements to our business.”

Heat Flexi Holidays is a many time national award winning agency that specialises in packaging tours to Darjeeling, Sikkim and Bhutan.

India-B2B team is the contact point for an enquiry. Mr Gupta said: “All nine have access to an online business query and the concerned region partner will action it accordingly. Similarly, we forward direct enquiries to concerned partners.” The concept is working well for a diverse, multi ethnic country like India where a standardised itinerary will not work for all regions.

“The entity also works like an extended network during someone’s absence. A business query was handled by a partner and directed to my office during my recent hospitalisation.” said Arijit Purukayastha, CEO, Koyeli Tours & Travels. He added that: “North-Eastern India, which is surrounded by Myanmar, Bangladesh and Tibet, is a confluence of many religions and cultures. There are many unique traits about each of the seven states here. Like Manipur has mention as God Krishna’s place in epic Mahabharata and also played a key role in India’s independence struggle. Manipur is also home to Jewish community”.

Meghalaya, with its proximity to snow capped Himalayan mountains, has now become a round the year tourist destination. Its matriarchal lineage is an interesting lifestyle feature, where a man moves into the lady’s home after marriage.

Gopesh Sharma, CEO, Discover Gujarat, said: “Within one year, consortium has gained so much of publicity that the brand is emerging stronger and people are banking on it. We are working under an umbrella serving towards one goal of popularising India (travel destinations) rather than working for individual gains.”

Similar goals, conviction and co-ordination among one another are making the consortium grow.

Mr Sharma is willing to take a discerning tourist to unexplored destinations in Gujarat like Junagad, an erstwhile royal territory with interesting attractions. Similarly, an agent can approach the other six partners of the consortium for quality tours of in-depth understanding.

Stanzin Chhospel, Director Mountain Trails in Leh-Ladakh, Nitin Sakunia, Business Head, Travel Bureau in Kolkata, Bajan Kumar Muduli, Director, Odisha Tour Expert, Atul Singh, Business Head, MP incoming, Pandian, Director, South Tourism and Akshay Rawat, Director, Faraway Tree Hospitality in Andaman Nicobar Islands are other partners of the consortium.

Mr Gupta said: “Those who worked with us last year are bringing and introducing five more agents after their happy dealings with us. Together, we’re also able to take a bigger place at travel trade fairs. With India becoming a round-the-year market, we see a big potential for growth.”

Winifred Dsouza, Manager PR, India B2B, said: “There’s lot of interest in agents to work with us as we offer reliable quality tours at competitive prices. We provide only Toyota Innova cars for more comfort during tours. We have handled celebrity visitors from abroad like Bill Gates.
