Sustainable produce is second nature at Nanuku Auberge Resort (Pacific Harbour, Fiji). Everything from dragonfruits, cacao and sour soap to vanilla bean plants are harvested on the rich, fruitful soil of Nanuku’s 550-acre private estate.

The recent inauguration of the Nanuku Bee Hive, which is estimated to produce 8-10 litres of wild honey per annum has paved the way for yet another unprecedented, unique, signature Nanuku adventure.

INTRODUCING THE “KING & QUEEN BEE EXPERIENCE”:

An immersive, three-part journey which can be scheduled throughout the day. Firstly, guests are invited to visit Nanuku’s Beekeeper Peter at the Nanuku Bee Hive; roaring with 2,000 bees including the Queen Bee, Adi Kamica which translates into ‘Sweet Queen’. Safely suited in protective clothing, guests learn about Fijian honey-making and the Nanuku Hive.

Secondly, guests are treated to either a Honey Firming Facial or Massage in Nanuku’s world-class Lomana Spa, before concluding the trilogy with a honey-based cocktail at sunset and a five-course honey-themed degustation dinner for two at Nanuku’s Kanavata Restaurant or one of the many ‘Destination Dining’ venues such asTreetop Dining or Cliffside Dining.

General Manager, Sascha Hemmann explains the vision behind this unique experience, “We strive to ensure our guests become completely ‘unplugged’ during their stay by immersing them in nature and our Fijian lifestyle. A visit to the Nanuku Hive allows them to deeply understand and connect with our sustainability philosophy.”

Sascha continues, “Our menus are set weekly based on our own organic produce plus the food we source from markets; all ethical, local and seasonal. We atAuberge Resorts Collection call this ‘simple pleasures’ ”.
