Up to 18,000 tourism businesses across South Australia will have access to a free online cleaning tool to support their effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 and drive consumer demand.

The COVID-19 Clean Practicing Business tool will ensure tourism businesses have the skills and resources to deliver a COVID clean environment for visitors.

Once completed, businesses will receive a tailored cleaning plan for immediate use.

Businesses will also have access to workplace posters and signage to help promote best hygiene practices to customers.

Tourism Industry Council South Australia (TiCSA) Chief Executive Officer, Shaun de Bruyn, said this is a valuable tool for tourism businesses now that state restrictions are being lifted and visitor demand is increasing.

“Now that tourism businesses are slowly starting to open, COVID Clean will provide assurance to visitors that the appropriate steps are being taken to stop the spread of COVID-19,” said Mr de Bruyn.

“This tool will boost consumer confidence and encourage local travel, which is what our tourism operators need to bounce back.”

COVID-19 Clean is being delivered by TiCSA in partnership with the Australian Tourism Industry Council. It is available to TiCSA Members who have successfully completed their Quality Tourism Accreditation.
