Cricks Tweed Expands Into ‘Sharing Economy’ Rentals

DriveMyCar, Australia’s largest online peer-to-peer car rental service, has partnered with Cricks Tweed to better accommodate the changing needs of car drivers.

For the first time, Cricks Tweed will be expanding its offering to rent brand-new vehicles to Tweed area residents, businesses, tradies and tourists that want either a short or long-term rental. This is powered by the DriveMyCar sharing economy platform.

The sharing economy – popularised by platforms such as Airbnb and MyCaravan – has proven to be an exciting space for businesses looking to meet the changing needs of customers who value access to things like cars, accommodation and caravans that make their lives more enjoyable and efficient. Customers can save money compared to renting from traditional rental companies.

This partnership opens Cricks Tweed up to the thousands of DriveMyCar customers around Australia who regularly look for great deals on car rentals – particularly travellers who land at the nearby Gold Coast airport.

Cricks Tweed’s general sales manager, Kyle Dillaway, said: “This partnership means we now cover the whole spectrum of transport and mobility needs. Whether customers want to try, buy or rent, they’ll now be able to find the right solution that best suits their needs at the time.

“But this is not just for one-off rentals. We appreciate that a brand new automobile can be a significant investment for many families, and this new offering enables customers to try a vehicle for a longer period of time without committing to a purchase right away. This is definitely something unique to Cricks Tweed, and we’re looking forward to seeing how locals respond.”

The models that will initially be available for rent include the latest Renaults, vans, utes, and top-of-the-line Mitsubishi Pajero Sports. All rentals come with 24/7 roadside assistance and comprehensive insurance. Customers can book cars directly through the dealership or the DriveMyCar website.

Chris Noone said, “This partnership is particularly exciting for DriveMyCar as it allows us to provide our renters with a greater range of brand-new vehicle in the Tweed and Gold Coast region, while also providing Cricks Tweed with innovative new ways to meet their customers changing mobility needs.
