Spread the love

For many for us the “dream” of being on gorgeous cruise ship, closing one’s eyes and drifting away before an ice cold beer or cocktail or a gourmet dinner, before a wonderful stage show, right now sadly, is just that…a “dream”!

So who should I ask to fulfil my “dream”?

Well, who better than one of Australia’s most enthusiastic, positive and passionate exponents of cruising than Brigita Devries, Vice President Sales & Marketing, Australia & New Zealand for Genting Cruise Lines, which incorporates of course Dream Cruises but also Crystal Cruises and Star Cruises, so I took the opportunity of having a chat with her to find out what was going on at Dream Cruises.

The good news is that Brigita told me that the dream is alive and well for some, that is if you live in Taiwan or very soon in Singapore, with Dream Cruises having already demonstrated in its cruises from Taiwan that cruise COVID-19 protocols can and do work, with 22 highly successful cruises having already taken place since July 26 without incident.

She also told me that from the beginning of November Dream Cruises will be commencing a fabulous cruise programme from Singapore, in full consultation with and the full approval of the Singapore Government.  This is a very strong indicator of the standard of these protocols as Singapore is renowned for is conservatism, so if Singapore can do it, I reckon Australia can! So is this a lesson for the Australian government?  Yes, I think so.

In the meantime, back to Dream Cruises with as Brigita told me, while Australians cannot cruise on Dream Cruises right now, not only will they be able to once international travel starts again, but also Dream Cruises is hoping to have one of their fabulous ships visit Australia.

So, the dream can come true, [with Dream Cruises], we just have to be patient!
