Destination Queenstown appoints communications manager

Destination Queenstown is pleased to announce the promotion of Jess Harkins to the role of communications manager.

Jess has been DQ’s communications executive for three years, coming to the RTO from a background in journalism, editing, travel writing and communications spanning 12 years.

Destination Queenstown marketing and communications Director, Sarah O’Donnell is delighted to appoint Jess to the new role.

“Jess has strong communications and media experience and has proven herself over the last three years in her role as communications executive at DQ. She will add great value to the team, and our members, in the communications manager position with her understanding of tourism, her experience and strong communication skills. She will be a great addition to the management team.”

Media executive Robyn Columbus Pester is departing the RTO after three years, to work for Queenstown tourism operator KJet as digital marketing manager.

As a result of this internal promotion, recruitment for the new position of media and communications executive is underway.

Jess commences her new role today, Monday 12 November.
