Australia’s fastest growing Ag-tech company, DIT Technologies Ltd (DIT) is pleased to announce its project with Australian livestock exporter Wellard, with the installation of its first doser for a trial on a livestock export vessel to Vietnam.

DIT has just completed the first of a series of trials with livestock exporter Wellard Rural Exports, supplementing livestock with uCalm Export, a product designed specifically by DIT to provide an animal welfare benefit to livestock throughout the live export supply chain.

The voyage, which was 12 days from Townsville to Vietnam, utilised DIT’s dosing technology to proportionally dose the supplement throughout the ship’s drinking water. The trial saw over 600 treated cattle being dosed and measured against a control group to determine its effectiveness to deliver a measurable improvement in animal welfare.

Ben Giblett, Export Operations manager of Wellard noted: “The results that we saw on the treated cattle were very promising. Most notably the behaviour of the treated mob at discharge and once delivered to our client’s feedlot was consistent with cattle that are calm and content in their new environment. If we can replicate these sorts of results in further trials, I can see this being an important addition to the toolkit for our industry, not only from an animal welfare point of view, but in being able to add value to our export client’s business by supplying cattle that can perform better on receipt”.

Trialled over a 12 month period in live export yards and on live export voyages, uCALM Export is an innovative supplement designed to improve animal welfare standards, enabling the industry to proactively improve their social licence whilst at the same time providing an increase in productivity to a very important export earner for Australia.

A vocal advocate for innovation in the agricultural sector, Mark Peart is CEO and founder of DIT Technologies Ltd who in a six-month period has grown his business by 100 percent and tripled his company value.  DIT acquired Harrington Systems Electronics including the uSEE platform at the start of the year which has allowed them to integrate all of their products onto the uSEE app for easier monitoring and grow their product lines to include remote monitoring camera and tank sensors.

“Our goal is to build a global livestock and animal health technology business and allow all its farmers to become more profitable and productive to meet the growing food demands which will be placed on our planet in the coming years,” he said.

“We’re an ambitious company and we have a very clear road map of what needs to be done and achieved to continue to be Australia’s fastest growing and cutting edge ag-tech business. Our world class technology which is exclusive to DIT Technologies is just one of the many differentiating traits we have, we’re also in the works of building new facilities to cement a national footprint and raising more capital,” says Peart.

DIT is the only company of its kind in Australia that is combining the latest industry knowledge around animal health, production and nutrition with up-to-date technology that enables measured and accurate feeding of supplements.

This has seen a surge in interest from regional communities across Australia as many primary producers count the significant cost of their current supplement programs after prolonged drought. This has resulted in an increase in customer numbers exceeding the 2018 financial year revenue figure by 38% in the 4 months to October 2018 alone.

DIT Technologies completed its first successful Equity Crowdfunding platform in January for $1 million and is in the process of planning its second campaign with Equitise.
