A new video exploring the vast array of attractions and experiences in Western Sydney has been released; showcasing one of the State’s fastest-growing regions to both locals and visitors.
Despite being home to almost half of Sydney’s overall population, many people are unaware of the breadth of the natural beauty, historic locations, cultural experiences, unique attractions, fine dining and outdoor adventures located in Western Sydney.
The highlights reel – produced by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency Destination NSW – features key attractions in Parramatta, Penrith, The Hills District, Liverpool, Blacktown, Fairfield, Camden, Campbelltown and Picton.
Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres has wasted no time in taking up the challenges of his new portfolio; also featuring in the video to underscore the extraordinary value of his electoral area and its surrounds to the State’s economy.
“I am proud to represent Western Sydney, which is a key contributor to the NSW Visitor Economy and currently delivers an impressive $4.2 billion in visitor expenditure for our State,” Mr Ayres said.
“If you haven’t been to Western Sydney recently, you’re missing out. The region boasts a truly diverse range of activities that cater for solo travellers through to families looking for a fun weekend away.
“One of the best things about Western Sydney is our long-established cultural diversity, which inherently brings with it a unique collection of international, historic, dining and outdoor experiences, suitable for all demographics.”
Destination NSW CEO Sandra Chipchase said while the video encapsulates the essence of Western Sydney, the list of experiences the region offers is endless.
“The historic homestead at Elizabeth Farm is perfect for those of all ages looking to gain a hands-on insight into Sydney’s colonial past, while Muru Mittigar Cultural Education Centre provides an authentic Indigenous experience for all visitors,” Ms Chipchase said.
“For those looking to enjoy Western Sydney’s beautiful outdoor surrounds, you can’t go past the Blue Mountains National Park, the iconic Nepean Belle Lunch Cruise and Featherdale Wildlife Park, while Parramatta’s Eat Street is a must-do for foodies.”
