Timed well with Canada Day, 1 July, 2020 – the Provincial Government of British Columbia Canada last week entered Phase 3 of BC’s Restart Plan where travel within British Columbia, by BC residents, is now permitted. Many hotels and lodges, outdoor adventure companies, wineries/breweries and other attractions are finding creative new ways to reopen whilst keeping with Public Health and Safety Guidelines.

British Columbia is known for its outstanding natural beauty, with dramatic mountainscapes and outdoor and nature based experiences.  From ranches to mountainside vineyards, and wildlife lodges, there are splendours in every corner of British Columbia that can be enjoyed at a safe distance.

Visitors are being encouraged to take more time with planning and to be more conscious of their impact on communities – especially the smaller ones – when they visit. Destination BC has put together top 10 tips on ways to travel safely and responsibly.

Indigenous Tourism BC is also encouraging international guests to start planning for forthcoming travel through their website.

With federal border restrictions still in place, international travellers cannot currently visit British Columbia Canada.  However, long haul travel is always planned well in advance for Canada, allowing visitors to research and plan for travel now.

The new normal will look a bit different, but British Columbia’s tourism industry is finding creative ways to pivot and welcome back guests to Canada in a safe manner.
