On Saturday 18 August 2018, Centennial Park will turn in Jurassic Park as Erth’s Dinosaurs will roam as a key attraction at the Science in the Swamp – Dinosaurs vs Superpowers event. The dinosaurs will be joined by acrobatic superheroes, robots and mad scientists, as a fantastic variety of science based exhibits descend on the Park for National Science Week.

Science in the Swamp returns for its sixth year, offering an amazing free, family-fun day out, with a whole host of new science shows, spectacular wildlife, superheroes, and science madness. This event will feature over 30 food and science stalls this year making it the biggest science week event yet.

“Science in the Swamp is the largest single day event for National Science Week in NSW, with over 10,000 visitors last year alone” says Christian Eckardt, Education & Community Team Leader at Centennial Parklands.

“Every year it gets better and better, and this year is no exception. This time we have superheros, dinosaurs AND robots all in one place. We recommend dressing up as your favourite superhero and coming down to explore the huge variety of stalls.”

Other events lined up for science week includes the popular Astronomy in the Park. Plus, enjoy a rare opportunity to explore the park after dark and create some fantastic artwork with the spectacular Valley of Light workshop.

This Inspiring Australia initiative is supported by both the Australian and NSW Governments as part of Sydney Science Festival in National Science Week
