Reservations and ticketing for Drukair – the Royal Airline of Bhutan, will be available now in Australia, following the announcement of The Walshe Group’s appointment as local GSA.

Drukair is the national airline of the Kingdom of Bhutan and currently serves 10 international destinations from Paro in Bhutan, including Bangkok, Singapore and various cities in India. Drukair recently welcomed to its fleet the ATR 42-600 aircraft which will complement the existing fleet of A319s.

Jacqui Walshe, MD and Chairman of The Walshe Group said she was delighted with the recent appointment.  “We are thrilled to have been chosen as the GSA for Drukair – which provides access to one of the most exclusive and sought-after destinations in the world”.

The announcements follows The Walshe Group’s appointment as the GSA for Indian carrier Vistara, part of Singapore Airlines.  The Walshe Group has been representing airlines for over 40 years and is able to call on the expertise of senior people in providing the strategic insights and intelligence to weather continuing shifts in the industry.

“As airline GSA specialists in the Asia-Pacific region we are so pleased to be able to support the unique needs of both airlines – particularly during such a competitive time in the market”, Walshe said.

Bhutan, the last Mahayana Buddhist kingdom and also one of the most unique travel destinations, opened its doors to the outside world only four decades ago. A unique policy of high value, low impact tourism upholds the nation’s vision of keeping its pristine environment, centuries old tradition and culture, intact and alive.
