Hospitality leader Philippe Kronberg is the new General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney, the luxury destination hotel in the historic Rocks precinct.

The French–Australian Kronberg returns to Sydney after his most recent role as General Manager of Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul, Turkey.

A seasoned hotelier and livewire by nature, Kronberg is looking forward to making his mark at the flagship hotel within Shangri-La Group stable of preeminent properties.

“My number-one priority is our guests, and delivering on the promise of a truly luxury experience which rivals the reputation of landmark hotels in other world-famous cities,” Kronberg said.

“Sydney is at an extraordinary time in its development, and Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney will set a new gold standard for hotels in our international harbour city.”

With a career spanning over 25 years, Kronberg’s inspired leadership and passion for hospitality has taken him from his native France, to developing and managing award-winning hotels in eight countries across Europe, Asia and Australia, for renowned global brands.

An astute and innovative operator, Kronberg received his MBA at the Australian Graduate School of Management from The University of Sydney and UNSW, and is a graduate of the esteemed hospitality school, Les Roches, Bluche, Switzerland.

An avid sportsman, Kronberg can often be found with his partner and children enjoying and exploring the natural beauty of Sydney.

Joining Kronberg at Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney is Resident Manager and native Sydneysider Kieron Hunt, who was most recently the Executive Assistant Manager at The Murray, Hong Kong.

Hunt brings a wealth of international experience to the role, and shares Kronberg’s vision and true commitment to delivering a premium luxury experience for guests at Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney.
