Pacific World, one of the world’s leading global destination and event management companies is helping clients make sustainability a major part of their events at destinations around the globe.http://www.stevecafeandcuisine.com/ From plastic fishing in the Netherlands to Zero Waste meetings in Cape Town to picking up trash at Mt. Bromo in Indonesia, Pacific World is committed to promoting a culture of caring for the planet that lasts long after the event has ended.

“We work together with our clients to create memorable experiences that participants carry home with them into their lives,” said Patricia Silvio, Global Marketing Manager of Pacific World. “We are focused on incorporating more experiences that demonstrate thoughtfulness for the earth. Our clients and their guests appreciate these types of opportunities, and destinations appreciate our commitment to their communities.”

Pacific World are leaders at the forefront of global event planning, creating unique events around the world that deliver memorable experiences for their clients. With a worldwide network of creative event planners, Pacific World strives to curate meaningful activities that spark an emotional connection to the destination and links to their clients’ values.

“Our team monitors the industry and consumer trends and, over the past year, we’ve seen tremendous growth in the demand of CSR and environmental activities, especially in North America and Canada,” adds Silvio. “The upcoming generation is one with a sense of urgency around caring for the planet and they are looking to limit the impact of their actions. We see this in the plastic-free initiatives – like the #TrashTag Challenge – that are trending around the globe fueled by social media.”

As public awareness and concern grows around environmental issues, consumers are adapting their own lifestyle choices – like using re-usable tote bags and water bottles – and are seeking more sustainable experiences when they travel. Pacific World shares this commitment and is launching a number of new experiences that connect attendees to the destination through an environmental activity. The new experiences include:

Monaco-Lerins Island (Cannes), France – Think Green on Lerins Island: Lerins Island, a short boat trip from Cannes, is a national forest with natural, preserved, wild and uninhabited areas. Sail to the island – the green way to travel on water – and take a tour with the forest manager and his team. Guests will participate in an ecologic workshop to make art from found driftwood and objects and, afterwards, enjoy a picnic lunch with local organic food.

Cape Town, South Africa – Zero Waste Meetings: Cape Town is a leader in responsible tourism practice. Enjoy an International Congress Luncheon with a Zero Waste Policy. A plated menu is served with a totally recyclable and compostable setting. Center pieces are comprised of vegetables, fruits and herbs which are donated to the night shelter kitchens in the city; the table décor is constructed from wooden pencils later donated to a community school; table menus are created with biodegradable paper; and water is served in re-usable and recycled glass bottles.

The Netherlands – Your Own #TrashtagChallenge: Sail the canals with the environmental group Plastic Whale on “sloep” boats made of recycled plastic. Hear about Plastic Whale’s mission to make the world’s waters plastic-free while you fish plastic and trash from the canals.

Surabaya, Indonesia – Dawn at Mt. Bromo: Trek up to the crater of Indonesia’s most famous volcano at sunrise with a local volcanologist. On the journey to the crater, guests will organize to pick up and remove trash left behind by visitors, helping to preserve the iconic site.

Edinburgh, Scotland – Caring for the Environment: Help preserve the Leith River, one of Edinburgh’s most important natural resources. Guests will join in a river clean-up, remove invasive species and path maintenance.
