EDAM Group, the UK’s market leading service provider of credit hire and post-accident services, is showing its philanthropic side this Christmas. While customers across the country have been preparing for the festive break, EDAM has been ramping up its commitment to charity causes.

To tie in with the festive theme, staff at EDAM have been participating in a ‘reverse advent calendar’ event. The concept encourages charity through giving, rather than receiving, and on every day throughout December employees have been donating food and provisions to the Trussell Trust, an NGO and charity that works to end the need for food banks in the UK.

It’s not just at Christmas that EDAM shows its commitment to charity. The company chooses a new worthy cause in every quarter of the year, which will receive funds generated by employee fundraising events and fun activities. The chosen charity of the final quarter of 2019 is The Peel Care Home in Wythenshawe, Manchester, a local elderly person’s home. EDAM has raised money through cake sales, and a number of staff have spent time speaking to residents over a cup of tea and slice of cake.

Lesley Jackson, Chief Commercial Officer at EDAM Group, said: “As a company, we pride ourselves on caring for our colleagues and for the community, and these charity drives are an opportunity to give something back. The fundraising activities have been fun for staff while still making an impact on charities around us. It is important for us to show the value of our philanthropic commitment as a socially conscious and responsible employer.”
