February 28, 2018 Hotel News No Comments Email Email

Recently, a Japanese mobile game on a free-roaming travel frog went viral in many parts of Asia, winning the hearts of youngsters and grown-ups alike. Known as “Tabikaeru: Travel Frog” and available only in Japanese, the game revolves around a free-spirited frog who goes on far-flung adventures, sending players surprise photos and souvenirs from its travels.

The hit game has unleashed the wanderlust of its many fans, inspiring them to embark on their own relaxing, free-spirited journeys and bringing back treasured memories in the form of gifts and snapshots. To inspire fans of Travel Frog towards making new discoveries off the beaten track, OZO recommends some of the best photogenic spots located within easy reach from its hotels in Colombo and Kandy in Sri Lanka, as well as Koh Samui in Thailand. With sleep, connect and explore as the key signatures at OZO, travellers can be assured of a relaxing journey filled with lasting memories and the best travel snapshots.

Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo

Location: No. 61, Sri Jinarathana Road, Colombo, Sri Lanka (17-minute drive away from OZO Colombo Sri Lanka)

One of the oldest Buddhist temples in Colombo, Gangaramaya Temple demonstrates an eclectic mix of Sri Lankan, Thai, Indian and Chinese architecture. The Bodhiya and Borobudur Replica within the temple are not only photogenic spots within the temple but also the best places to find peace of mind.

St. Paul’s Church in Kandy

Location: No. 10, Deva Veediya, Kandy, Sri Lanka (10-minute drive away from OZO Kandy Sri Lanka)

The really cool thing about Kandy (besides its cool climate) is that spirituality goes beyond the Buddhist faith. The 170-year-old St. Paul’s Church shares a common boundary with the well-known Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. What is so special about this church is not only its form of a cross inside, which has no pillars, but also its red-brick colonial-era architectural style, making it a beautiful landscape worth capturing on Instagram.

Secret Buddha Garden in Koh Samui

Location: Atop Kao Yai in Koh Samui, just off Route 4169 at Baan Saket (45-minute drive away from OZO Chaweng Samui)

Located at the highest point on Koh Samui, the Secret Buddha Garden, also known as the Magic Garden, is a heavenly place filled with sculptures depicting deities sitting in meditation and musicians playing silently amid tropical bushes and flowers, and miniature waterfalls and a little stream running through. Best to make a trip to this secret garden with a four-wheel drive vehicle or join one of the local tour groups.

Between March and December, travellers can enjoy advance purchase offers at OZO Chaweng Samui, OZO Colombo and OZO Kandy, and save up to 15% when booking at least 30 days (for OZO Colombo and OZO Kandy) or 45 days (for OZO Chaweng Samui) in advance. For more details and reservations, please visit
