An Italian feast awaits you this spring at Grand Hyatt Melbourne’s award-winning restaurant, Collins Kitchen, with Melbourne’s legendary pizza institution, Ladro, returning for a three-month residency.

Kicking off on Monday 2nd September, the specially curated menu is a creative collaboration between the Ladro and Collins Kitchen culinary teams and features authentic Italian cuisine made from the freshest locally sourced produce.

Menu highlights include a selection of handmade pasta and gnocchi created from Ladro’s secret recipe, made daily in-house.

A slow-roasting wood-fire rotisserie will also be operating in the restaurant’s famous open kitchen with a weekly mouth-watering offering of succulent porchetta, lamb shoulder or chicken. Be sure to make time to escape the office to enjoy the daily lunch offer, which includes a serve of the rotisserie, a draft Peroni beer and a side of Italian seasoned fries for $35.

Foodie fans can also rejoice with the hotel’s exclusive bianco e nero pizza returning again this year. Meaning black and white in Italian, last year’s hit pizza comes with an activated charcoal black base and topped with burrata, San Daniele prosciutto, cherry tomatoes and dressed rocket.

Along with a selection of classic wood-fire pizza flavours that first put Ladro on the map, guests can also indulge on zucchini flowers, duck ragu and broad bean risotto to name a few along with a selection of imported Italian wines on offer to complete the meal.

Keeping true to its legendary reputation for indulgent desserts, Collins Kitchen’s famous dessert station will also be turned into a decadent “La Gelateria” bar with bomboloni Italian donuts, Ladro tiramisu and Sicilian cannoli all on display to provide the perfect “dolce” finish.

To celebrate Ladro’s return, come and sample the weekly rotisserie meat every Tuesday in September. 100 buns filled with juicy meat will be handed out at the hotel’s Collins Street entrance from 12pm. Ladro’s residency at Collins Kitchen is on until Thursday 28th November, 2019 with its menu available for lunch and dinner Monday – Friday and for dinner only on Saturday and Sunday.
