LUXE by EXO, the boutique luxury brand of EXO Travel, announces a new experience that showcases the incredible cultural heritage of Laos.
The Ethnic Handicraft & Cultural Diversity half-day experience pairs the visit of the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre (TAEC) and the encounter with local experts from Ock Pop Tok organization.
The experience begins with a guided visit to the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre with an expert in anthropology and sustainable tourism development. Guests next enjoy a talk on ethnic diversity and cultural change in Laos which gives them an excellent background on Lao’ ethnic communities, their history and their cultural practices, including livelihoods and crafts.
The experience continues to Ock Pop Tok organization for some insight into one of the most important handicrafts in Laos: weaving. Guests will be introduced to the process of silk weaving from the initial stages of creating the dyes to the final process of loom weaving. The tour concludes at the Silk Road café situated by the mighty Mekong River, an ideal spot for a sunset drink.
