Etihad Airways has partnered with Special Olympics Australia as a Major Sponsor and Official Airline to help raise awareness and fly the team to the World Games in Abu Dhabi next year.
The partnership has seen Etihad Australia sales staff supporting fund raising efforts at events across the year, and volunteering at the domestic games in Adelaide last March. The airline also helped to promote the movement by lighting the Sydney Opera House Sails in red to celebrate the games’ 50th anniversary and announce the 2019 Australian Special Olympics team last Friday July 20.
As part of its partnership, Etihad has created a special discount to all Australian athletes competing in the World Games, and are providing Business Class and Economy Class tickets plus accomodatuion in Abu Dhabi as prizes for fundraising purposes.
Etihad is also one of the main sponsors of the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019.
The airline will be flying athletes, equipment, coaches, dignitaries and the media for the occasion, supported by Hala Abu Dhabi, the destination management company, and Etihad Cargo. Airline staff will be working with the Special Olympics team to share hospitality expertise in order to deliver the best possible guest experience.
