CINZ MEETINGS gala guests partied fiesta-style last night to celebrate MEETINGS’ final outing at SkyCity Convention Centre.

Dubbed ‘Fiestaval in the Sky’, event management and design by Total Event brought a high voltage, high energy atmosphere to the MEETINGS 2019 farewell with a spectacle of colour.

SkyCity Auckland Convention Centre, home to MEETINGS for many years, will be closing in late October to make way for new tourism attractions, and this is the last time a component of MEETINGS will be held there.

CINZ Chief Executive, Sue Sullivan says the MEETINGS gala took over the whole fifth floor, with spaces of wild colour and chill out vibes.

The Kitchen at SkyCity served tasty South American, Mexican and Latin cuisine, at street stalls dotted around the venue.

“The Production and Music Agency once again produced New Zealand’s best artists, performers and entertainment for the MEETINGS gala celebration, with a Latin band and a DJ all beating out the rhythms of “Fiestaval” with their amazing line-up of talent.

“With the sights and sounds of Latin America Encore brought their expertise to all the staging, lighting and integrated digital technologies guests experienced,” she says.

Quick Pix were on hand to ensure guests captured all their best moments with professional photographers and entertaining photo booths.

Next year’s CINZ MEETINGS will be held on 22 and 23 April 2020 at ASB Showgrounds in Auckland.

Best Stand Awards 2019

Sue Sullivan presented CINZ MEETINGS 2019 Awards for exhibitors, judged by a team of four hosted buyers.

“We had so many extraordinarily clever and eye-catching exhibition stands this year, and it was a difficult decision for the judges to come down to choosing the final three. They gave particular mention to the smaller regions, and commented how welcoming, warm and passionate they were,” she said.

The 2019 award winners were:

Best Stand Winner – Auckland

The winner of this category had a bright and vibrant stand, and was easy to navigate with excellent signage and plenty of space. The award clincher, however, was their clever activation, the personalised Avatar.

Best Individual Stand – Millennium Hotels & Resorts

Judges said Millennium had a nice open space with bright and comfy chairs, and a visually appealing display of colourful fruit, cheese and greenery, combined with a huge backdrop of photos including some taken over the past few days.

Best New Exhibitor – Auckland Zoo

The aroma and colours, as well as the happy and energetic team, drew in buyers to create an overall great experience on this stand.  With sustainability high on the agenda, they promoted awareness through their keep-cups and re-usable drink bottles from their shop.
