Leading adventure tourism and leisure company, Experience Co (ASX EXP) has today announced three new exciting appointments to the executive team, including the appointment of Kathryn O’Brien to the newly created role of Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

Kathryn O’Brien, newly appointed Chief Revenue Officer of Experience Co

Ms O’Brien previously served as the GM of Sales & Marketing for Hamilton Island Enterprises and has also worked for Accor, Voyages Indigenous Tourism and Tourism NT. As CRO, she will be responsible for reservations, direct and indirect sales, and broader commercial partnerships.

Experience Co CEO, John O’Sullivan, said the company was thrilled to have Ms O’Brien join the executive management team with a commencement date of 2 December 2019.

“Kathryn has a great track record and reputation in the travel industry and we are excited about the capability she will bring to Experience Co,” said Mr O’Sullivan.

“She joins us at a critical time for our business and I look forward to working with her closely as we embark on a new chapter for our business,” added Mr O’Sullivan.

Based out of Sydney, Ms O’Brien’s primary focus will be across Experience Co’s Australian products (Skydive Australia and Adventure Experiences), but will also include a close working partnership with the New Zealand team.

She joins the team at the same time as Joe Stein, who has been appointed the new General Manager of Skydive Australia, and Adam Jones, who is the new General Manager of Great Barrier Reef and EXP’s North Queensland’s operations.

Mr Stein moves into the role of GM of Skydive Australia, having been with the company for eight years, working as Chief Instructor and Operations Manager of Skydive Australia’s Byron Bay Drop Zone. As of late October, he has taken over executive responsibility for the Skydive Australia business.

Prior to joining the company, Mr Stein operated his own travel business and he is also a Board Member of the Australian Parachute Federation.

In North Queensland, Mr Jones has been appointed to the role of GM of Great Barrier Reef. As the previous owner of Daintree Tours and part of the management group of Calypso Cruises, Mr Jones has a highly regarded reputation in the local market and brings invaluable experience and knowledge in running marine businesses.

He has been with the company since Experience Co acquired Daintree Tours and has since been running aviation operations for Experience Co with oversight of Great Barrier Reef Helicopters and Cairns Hot Air Ballooning.

Experience Co CEO John O’Sullivan said he was equally delighted to welcome Mr Jones and Mr Stein to the team as the company embarked on this new exciting new chapter.

“I am very excited that Joe and Adam have joined Experience Co’s leadership team. They are both proven commercial and operational leaders with great industry reputations,” said Mr O’Sullivan.
