From March 19 to 21, Rio de Janeiro will host the 31st Super Rio Expofood. The fair, which brings together professionals and companies from the supermarket, baking, hotel, convenience, bars, and restaurants sectors, is expected to bring over 45,000 people to Riocentro, in the Western Zone. It’s not just the number of visitors that impresses. For three days, 500 companies promise to expose novelties that will be available in 200 of the largest supermarkets in the country in the coming months.

In addition to generating business opportunities, Super Expofood will also host the 53rd edition of the Brazilian Association of Supermarkets Convention (Abras). Under the theme “Consumer transforming retail”, the conference will feature lectures and panels that will discuss new shopper profiles, challenges and opportunities in the consumer market, technological innovations and expansion strategies, among other topics.

Organized by the Supermarkets Association of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Asserj), the fair expects to generate 8,000 direct and indirect jobs, in addition to a R$ 30 million investment forecast in lodging and tourism. At www.superrioexpofood.com.br., the public can check the schedule and register, which is free for professionals in the industry.
