The P&O Cruises fleet might be far from Australia while cruise operations are paused during the current pandemic, but the line noted on Anzac Day that “onboard teams were determined to ensure that Anzac Day was commemorated on the ships of Australia’s homegrown cruise line”.

Dawn Services were held on Pacific Explorer, Pacific Dawn and Pacific Aria where officers and crew participated in a traditional tribute to Australians and New Zealanders who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their nations.

The three ships are currently in Asian waters but a company statement said that “P&O’s legendary cruise director Zoltina-J Medwik-Daley wanted to continue with an onboard tradition that Australian and New Zealand guests have long cherished but in which they were unable to participate this year due to the worldwide pause in cruise operations”.

In Facebook posts, many P&O guests said they were pleased that the Anzac legend had again been remembered on the fleet.
