Singapore’s 2019 calendar is filled with possibilities for visitors of all passions to indulge to their hearts’ content. Whether you’re a Foodie, Explorer, Culture Shaper, Action Seeker, Socialiser or Collector, there is an exciting and diverse line-up of activities in 2019 to enjoy with those who share your passions.

Among the highlights are notable international events such as The World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards, which will be held in Asia for the first time; the return of the most anticipated circus act Cirque du Soleil with a new show Kurios; new edition of the visually arresting Rainforest Lumina at the Singapore Zoo; Disney events featuring Pixar as part of the third year of partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board; and art events such as the Singapore Biennale and the inaugural Southeast Asia (S.E.A.) Focus; the Singapore Bicentennialcelebrations featuring a slew of events lined up such as the Fort Canning Park experiential showcase, through the year to commemorate Singapore’s 200 years of history.

Adding to the calendar of exciting events, 2019 will see two grand retail project launches including Design Orchard (opening January), a one-stop retail destination where Collectors can seek out the exceptional and exclusive locally-designed goods all under one roof; the highly- anticipated Jewel Changi Airport (opening end March), which is set to be an iconic lifestyle venue that boasts world-class attractions, and all-rounded shopping and dining experience. Key features visitors can look out for include the 14,000 square-meter Canopy Park nestled at the top level of the world-class attraction, a breath-taking 40m high Rain Vortex and many more interactive elements like the Canopy Mazes and Discovery Slides.

After entering a large-scale restoration project for a year, the newly-restored Raffles Hotel will also open its doors to guests in 2019. The new chapter of the Raffles story will see the introduction of new hotel suites, dining experiences, history gallery, celebrity chef restaurants and a refreshed Raffles gift shop.


For the first time ever in Asia, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards will be hosted in Singapore in June 2019. Foodies can indulge their passion for culinary adventures here through a series of diverse programmes, curated to celebrate culinary innovation, diversity and sustainability. These will be in the form of gala awards, bespoke dinners, interactive masterclasses and live discussions. Not to be missed for passionate Foodies is the marquee event Singapore Food Festival. Get ready to savour the best local delicacies at the only food festival that is dedicated to Singaporean culinary talents and breadth of unique local dining experiences.


Culture Shapers can discover your inner creativity as 2019 kicks off with Singapore Art Week (SAW). Art takes over the beautiful city for nine days in January, transforming it into a veritable gallery with exhibitions, art trails, talks, art fairs and large-scale art projections. Presented as part of the seventh edition of SAW are the inaugural S.E.A. Focus boutique art fair and the Frieze Academy Series, where Culture Shapers can join international creatives, collectors and academics to exchange insights on contemporary art in Southeast Asia. Other signature arts and cultural activities that will appeal to Culture Shapers from around the world includes Singapore Biennale 2019, Children’s Biennale 2019, Art SG, Singapore Night Festival and Singapore International Festival of Arts.


Action Seekers from around the world are expected to flock to Grand Prix Season Singapore, as the iconic 2019 FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE AIRLINES SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX makes its twelfth appearance in September. The 2019 roster includes a calendar of world-class sporting action for the Action Seekers such as the HSBC Women’s Champions Singapore, HSBCSingapore Rugby Sevens, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Fight Night Singapore and Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon. Not just for sports fans, each event features accompanying lifestyle activities that will thrill the whole family.

Soccer fans can watch the best in the world compete and chase the adrenaline as Singapore will once again host the JSSL Singapore International 7’s followed by the International Champions Cup. This is where football fans can catch their favourite stars from the top international leagues as they face off in pre-season matches.


Given our multicultural and multi-ethnic background, festivals and cultural celebrations are held year-round with pomp. Singapore is where Explorers can uncover authentic cultural experiences as our enclaves of Chinatown, Geylang Serai and Little India are transformed with festive decorations, bazaars and performances.
