For the fifth year running, Australia’s premier luxury travel advisory group, The Goldman Group, has taken the Top Virtuoso Agency Producer (Asia Pacific) 2018 award, at the annual Virtuoso Travel Week Awards.

International luxury travel network Virtuoso announced the winners of its prestigious Virtuoso Awards, at the opening ceremony of Virtuoso Travel Week 2019, this weekend in Las Vegas. Held at Bellagio Resort & Casino, the exclusive awards ceremony honours Virtuoso’s top travel advisors, agencies and preferred partners.

The Top Virtuoso Agency Producer (Asia Pacific) award recognises all companies under the Goldman Travel Group umbrella, including: Goldman Travel Corporation; Travelcall; SmartFlyer Australia; Quintessentially Travel Australia; and The Cruise Centre.

“We are thrilled to be recognised for the fifth year in a row as a top Virtuoso Agency Producer,” says Tom Goldman, Executive Chairman of Goldman Travel Group. “It’s a great feeling to receive this accolade as the group continues to grow from strength to strength, building success year on year, thanks to our wonderful, hard-working and committed teams,” he concludes.

The Goldman Group has experienced a successful year – and a year of change with the consolidation of its leisure brands. 2019 saw the farewell of the Travel Phasebrand, to make way for the roll out of Travelcall – with offices in Melbourne, Bondi Junction and Double Bay. The rebrand was a huge success, and the company continues to experience growth.

On the cruise front, business is booming at The Cruise Centre. In addition to this, Smartflyer Australia – the ultimate travel collective that specialises in luxury travel experiences, saw a 25% increase in growth and turnover, and now counts 42 home-based advisors as part of its team.

The ever-increasing use of travel agencies for premium and luxury travel is proof that even in today’s “Instagram era” the personalised service of agents is preferred over online booking platforms. In February 2019, the Goldman Group conducted The Australian Luxury Traveller 2019 Report, in partnership with AccorHotels, that underlined the close partnership between luxury travellers and their travel advisors.

The survey revealed that 58% of luxury Australian travellers who plan to book their next overseas adventure will use an expert travel advisor, with 28% intending to use a travel advisor for ideas whilst researching their next trip. Four out of five respondents said the benefits of booking through travel agents, such as room upgrades, complimentary breakfast and late check-out, were an important factor in the decision-making process.

In the ever-changing travel industry, the Goldman Group aims to retain its great service and strong relationships with its supplier and client partners, for the remainder of 2019 – and beyond.
