Flaming row on Jetstar leads to pax ban from Bali

February 8, 2018 Headline News No Comments Email Email

Two passengers on a Jetstar flight from Sydney have been refused entry to Bali after an aggressive passenger was filmed swearing repeatedly, hurling abuse at fellow travellers and apparently pushing someone.

The action happened aboard flight JQ37 from Sydney on Monday night.

Phone video of the abuse screened by 9 News last night showed a passenger in the distance apparently throwing his weight around while a female voice called “sit down” repeatedly.

So many swearwords were beeped out, the soundtrack at some points consisted mainly of beeps.

In between the beeps, dialogue from what seems to have been a horror flight includes: “You know what, f*** your family mate and f*** you. I’m trying to apologise and you’re throwing it back in my face.”

That was from a woman yelling at another passenger.

“I’m sorry for what he’s done’” says a female passenger. “I’m very sorry.”

Another verbal gem: “Leave her alone. Don’t f****** touch me. Leave her alone!”

The flight captain requested Indonesian police meet the abusive pair on arrival in Bali. The duo were formally denied entry to Indonesia and sent packing, deported straight back to Australia.

An Jetstar spokesperson said a passenger was “disruptive and aggressive towards our crewmembers and was making the flight uncomfortable and unpleasant for other passengers on board”.

The crew had handled the situation professionally, as trained.
