Flynn, a Crystalbrook Collection Hotel, officially opened its doors in Cairns this week, the third Cairns property in the Crystalbrook portfolio, with what they describe as the social butterfly of the family ready to get the party started following months of nights in.

The opening, originally set for April 2020, was delayed by COVID-19 but as border closures are lifting, Crystalbrook Collection decided the time was right!

Geoff York, CEO and Group Director of Crystalbrook Collection said, “Crystalbrook Collection is an integral part of the cultural landscape of Cairns, and we are thrilled to complete the trio in Far North Queensland with the opening of Flynn.”

“With the hope that all Australians will be welcome in Queensland by Christmas, the opening of Flynn is part of our ongoing commitment to support and invest in the Australian tourism industry.”

Located right on the Cairns Esplanade Boardwalk, Flynn features 311 stylish rooms and suites, many with jaw-dropping views of the Coral Sea, two glass pools, an Eléme Day Spa and 24-hour gym, with the ground-level restaurant, Boardwalk Social, opening back in January, proving an instant hit with locals and cementing the venue as the place to be in Cairns, serving market-style food and beverages and home to live music, local ingredients and brews, with 40 different kinds of gin to sample.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, Flynn’s Italian, will open in the coming months, bring some European charm to Cairns offering locally sourced heartfelt Italian food that celebrates local produce, reputedly with an extensive Italian wine list that will not disappoint.

Also set to join Cairns’ flourishing food and beverage scene is Flynn’s sophisticated Whiskey and Wine Bar, featuring an expansive selection from boutique Australian whiskey producers, local and imported wines, home-style delicacies, and a spread of modern Australian snacks.

Joel Gordon, Area Manager, Cairns said, “It’s fantastic to see the property come to life, with Flynn as a personality truly the place to be and be seen, and we are ready to welcome all Australian’s to our beautiful part of the world.”
