The Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi is to become the newest hotel in Tokyo to offer a luxury hospitality experience that honours the illustrious past of the city it resides. Poised to open on the 1st September 2020, the Four Seasons Tokyo at Otemachi will quite literally elevate the hospitality experience to a new level in the city, according to Rainer Stampfer, President, Four Seasons Hotel Operations – Asia Pacific.

The luxury hotel, which is housed within the top six floors of a new, 39-storey tower designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, will offer a restful haven for travellers and a magnet for the city’s sky-high social scene. A feast for the senses, the Hotel’s interiors evoke an origami-like sense of discovery through layered design motifs envisioned by interiors firm Denniston, under the masterful touch of lead designer Jean-Michel Gathy.

In addition to the 190 guest rooms and other facilities that reflect the essence of Japan in a modern aesthetic, the hotel features a top-floor spa sanctuary that was created with the help of the world-renowned spa and wellness design and consultancy firm, GOCO Hospitality.

GOCO Hospitality was engaged by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts to conduct market research & feasibility studies (conducted by their sister company, Horwath HTL Health and Wellness), and to provide design development services.

Blending contemporary and classic design, the spa will feature state-of-the-art heat and water facilities with stunning views facing the Imperial Palace Gardens with Mount Fuji in the distance. At the Spa lobby, a three-dimensional fabric installation by Namiko Kitaura billows and sweeps outward as if caught in the wind, in a nod to the flowing fabrics of Japanese fashion icon Issey Miyake.

The 900 sq.m. spa will also feature various private treatment rooms, a fitness centre, indoor pool, vitality pool and heat and water facilities which include steam rooms, traditional Japanese bathing pools and a unique heated lounger shower experience.

Ingo Schweder, Founder and CEO of GOCO Hospitality, says “The exciting and elegant Four Seasons Tokyo at Otemachi will become an icon in the dynamic and culturally rich city of Tokyo. I am excited to see the spa come to life when it opens in September, where it is expected to marry a unique combination of contemporary and traditional wellness experiences for each and every guest.”

In anticipation of its grand opening, the Hotel is offering an introductory offer package featuring savings on the room rate, food and beverage and spa, and more.
