Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), the innovator in global cruise travel with a 54-year history of breaking boundaries, offers access to a diverse array of more than 50 reinvigorating and restorative spa and salon treatments so guests can experience the ultimate in relaxation at sea.

Taking inspiration from the ancient and contemporary therapies of the diverse regions NCL travels to, Mandara Spa® offers experiences for all tastes and temperatures, with everything from snow rooms to saunas on offer.

“Like our innovative ships, NCL’s unique Mandara Spa® gives guests the opportunity to try something different onboard, to compliment or completely contrast with their experience on land. Imagine switching off and enjoying the majesty of Alaskan glaciers from the warm bliss of a heated ceramic lounge chair in our Thermal Suite, or taking a reprieve from the summer sun to experience a flurry of falling snow in one of our snow rooms which are kept at -10 degrees Celsius,” said Nicholas Lim, Norwegian Cruise Line General Manager, (Sales) Asia.

Available fleetwide, Mandara Spa®, voted World’s Best Cruise Spa by the World Spa Awards 2016, is the place for guests to recharge and refresh at the hands of trained professionals. The range of therapeutic offerings features over 50 specialty treatments including acupuncture, massages with heat-retaining volcanic rocks, and body wraps. For guests craving some pampering, NCL’s onboard salon offers a variety of beauty treatments from manicures, pedicures and haircuts, to scalp massages and Botox. NCL also provides for a variety of male grooming options – from the deep cleanse treatment to an express shave – you will be sure to be looking your best ahead of a night of fun onboard.

Some of NCL’s must-try Mandara Spa® experiences include:

  • Snow Room: NCL’s snow room – available on-board Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Escape – provides guests with an unparalleled opportunity at sea to experience a snow-covered winter wonderland. A snow room encompasses the therapeutic and invigorating concept of going from hot to cold. Guests can warm up in the sauna before venturing into the chilly -10 degrees Celsius snow room, where they’ll experience a snow-covered room while rebooting their body’s temperature. Benefits of this artic therapy include encouraging blood flow and boosting of the immune system.
  • Thermal Suite: Inspired by the idea of Turkish baths, where family and friends relax together, the Thermal Suite allows guests the opportunity to do just that. Available across most of the vessels in its 17-strong fleet, NCL’s Thermal Suite experience includes a variety of heat and cleansing therapies, from hot tubs to a steam room, sauna and tropical rain showers. Guests can cleanse the body with gentle heat therapies or take a dip in the therapeutic heated-water pool, where the bubbling effect will ease stiff or sore joints following a day of onshore exploring.
  • Salt Room: Also known as halotherapy, salt therapy is known to aid in strengthening the immune system, as well as helping to alleviate some breathing and skin conditions. Available exclusively on board NCL’s Breakaway and Breakaway-Plus class ships, guests will step into a dimly lit grotto with glimmering crystal walls and tactile sandy floors inspired by Europe’s renowned salt caves. Once inside, they can sit back, relax and enjoy the soothing scent of fresh ocean air – the perfect R&R experience to recharge batteries after a day of adventures in port.
  • Vitality Pool: As the name suggests, vitality pools are known to cleanse and detoxify the skin, relieve muscle pain, and improve mental wellbeing. Heated to 38 degrees Celsius and equipped with powerful jets, guests will enjoy a mini-hydrotherapy experience to relax both the mind and body, all while sipping on some refreshing cucumber water and letting the world melt away as they enjoy panoramic ocean views.

For Hong Kong travellers wanting to unwind onboard a closer-to-home voyage in Asia, the recently refurbished Norwegian Spirit will be setting sail from December on her inaugural 2021/22 winter sailing season, offering the Asian itineraries departing from Singapore and Bali. Guests will be delighted by Norwegian Spirit’s re-imagined staterooms, new venues and intimate, adult-centric spaces, as well as the doubled-in-size Mandara Spa®, expanded Pulse Fitness Centre and adults-only retreat Spice H20.

For those planning a relaxing future getaway, NCL recently unveiled its exciting ‘BOGOHO’ promotion: for a limited time only, upon purchase of a first cruise fare, the second guest will enjoy 50% off on select sailings.
