Celebrated wine producers in the Shoalhaven’s are offering weekly online wine tastings, to help bring a slice of the South Coast of NSW to you, delivered direct to your home!

After a devastating bushfire season, coupled with COVID-19 restrictions these savvy small businesses have pivoted to the digital realm in an effort keep engaged with customers.

With a new winery featured each Friday for the next few weeks, participants will get the opportunity to meet the maker, gain an understanding of their wines and wine-making methodology.

The Shoalhaven’s temperate climate and lush soil produces some of the world’s most highly acclaimed drops. Wineries participating in the online tastings include: Silos Estate and Wileys Creek, Mountain Ridge Wines, Coolangatta Estate Winery, Two Figs Winery, Cambewarra Estate Winery, Cuppitts Winery, Bawley Vale Estate, and Yarrawa Estate.

A full list of wineries and the wines featured in the tastings are listed on shoalhaven.com/wine. Participants are encouraged to support the businesses by purchasing wines to sample during the online tastings. Wines can be ordered online direct from the winery or purchased from your local bottle shop with a full list of national stockists available on the Shoalhaven website.

To take part in the tastings, follow @VisitShoalhaven on Facebook and join the scheduled watch parties to be notified. The first tasting takes place this Friday, 22nd May and features Brett Richardson from Cambewarra Estate who gives a Cellar Door experience tasting their Verdelho and Chambourcin, and a tour around the vineyard including their sought-after VIP High Tea experiences.

The virtual tastings are just one example of the incredible online experiences that Shoalhaven businesses have been offering during COVID-19 restrictions. Other experiences include yoga classes with Om Sweet Om Milton and art workshops with This Old House Studio and House of Jules. You could even have a furry, fluffy or feathered friend brighten up those dreary Zoom meetings with a range of gorgeous rescued animals from Back 2 Earth available to drop into your Zoom meeting as a guest or take you on a virtual tour of the sanctuary.

Australian businesses have continued to innovate during the COVID-19 crisis. Tourism Australia has recently launched their Live From Aus broadcast and live stream, bringing the icons of NSW food and wine, nature and wildlife, as well as arts and culture to audiences across Australia and the world.
