G Adventures launches Mt Kilimanjaro Step Challenge

G Adventures has announced the launch of their Mt Kilimanjaro Steps Challenge – the third iteration of their famous Inca Trail Steps Challenge – chosen in response to a positive spike in enquiry to a number of its Mt Kilimanjaro and East Africa itineraries for 2021 and beyond.

Agents can enter as a team, individual, or both and accumulate their steps each day to discover just how much of Mt Kilimanjaro they can climb over a four day period. Along the way they will be provided with a daily Kilimanjaro fact blast, photos, videos, songs, podcasts and stories –  everything they need to book their clients on their own tour of Africa’s tallest free-standing mountain.

G Adventures Managing Director Adrian Piotto said: “Mt Kilimanjaro has long held appeal to Australian travellers as one of the world’s greatest natural wonders – and it is a key product for G Adventures. We’re encouraged to see a spike in enquiries and search for travellers looking to return to this incredible destination.

“We are committed to helping upskill and support our agents, through fun and interactive campaigns, to help them offer the expertise and knowledge travellers are looking for.”

Over the course of four days, agents will be aiming to complete 77,500 steps across four days, which at roughly 62kms is the same length of the Machame Route of Mt Kilimanjaro – one of G Adventures most popular tours for Australians heading to East Africa. The challenge will run from Monday July 6th to 11.59pm on Thursday July 9th, with results and winners to be announced on ‘Active Wear Friday’ July 10th.

To get involved in the Mt Kilimanjaro Step Challenge agents need to register online by close of business, Monday July 6th. From there, you’ll simply use the steps app on your phone (or another fitness tracker app) to track your daily step activities each day, and accumulate your team results to send to G Adventures GPS  Jake Hilbert by 11am each morning.

G Adventures last step challenge – focusing on Patagonia and the W Trek – saw 92 agents participate across Australia and New Zealand, taking a combined 3,439,170 steps and trekking a whopping 2,751kms, enough to have trekked the W Trek 48 times.

Agents are encouraged to join the Agents of Change Group for all the updates and bonus step challenges via Facebook Agents may contact for any questions related to the step challenges.
