As Gaylord Hotels celebrates its Summer of More, the brand is excited to announce the much-anticipated reopening of its iconic Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center on July 1, 2021, just in time for the summer travel season. Reopening with an expansive $64 million guest room renovation, the Capitol Region hotel will bring exciting new seasonal activities designed to highlight its spectacular 19-story garden atrium and waterfront setting.
Aquatic Fun All Season Long
A summertime must, Gaylord Hotels’ renowned water parks and pools are placed in the spotlight as the resorts welcome guests to cool down and make a splash with new and signature experiences. Here is what is happening in the water this season:
Newly unveiled, Gaylord Palms welcomes guests to Crystal River Rapids, a thrilling new action river water attraction at Cypress Springs Water Park that takes guests on an exhilarating ride as they twist and turn through speeding currents. With the new Crystal River Rapids, guests will discover new casual grab-and-go dining for lunch and dinner, two spas with massage jets, stunning 360-degree views and upgraded pool seating. The new experience joins signature attractions at Cypress Springs Water Park, including its 48.5-ft. tall Florida Free Fall AquaDrop slide, 3-level Tree House Water Playground, and much more.
Gaylord Texan brings back aquatic fun at its 10-acre outdoor Paradise Springs pool and lazy river complex, offering an exclusive array of action-packed and relaxing water attractions including a 6,000-square-foot family lagoon with walk-in beach, winding water slides, zip-line, multi-level interactive water treehouse, and more. Additionally, the resort is pleased to also offer a newly renovated outdoor pool and hot tub with an expanded pool deck and pool bar.
Gaylord Rockies invites guests to Arapahoe Springs, its sprawling indoor/outdoor water complex, inclusive of multiple water slides, zero-entry indoor and outdoor pools, 720-ft. long lazy river, as well as sunbathing decks to relax and unwind.
At Gaylord Opryland, guests can enhance their stay at the 3-level upscale modern oasis, SoundWaves, an unexpected aquatic attraction featuring thrilling water slides and multi-level play structures, body drop slides, FlowRider® Double attraction, lazy and rapid rivers, outdoor wave pool, and more, as well as relaxing indoor and outdoor pools.
As visitors enjoy the water all season long across the resorts, they can partake in summer pool parties that bring DJs and music, games, prizes and more for kids and adults alike. In addition to its exciting aquatic offerings, Gaylord Hotels has curated unique and educational summer programming to be enjoyed in each resort’s expansive, climate-controlled atriums under soaring glass ceilings. Animal Encounters offers participants real-life learning interactions with a variety of creatures, while Wildlife Rescue presents an augmented reality experience by bubly™, where guests virtually track down and learn about endangered species. The Adventures Kids: Join the Club show at Gaylord Palms takes little ones on an educational journey to learn about plant life, animals, and the planet as they earn special badges.

Themed Adventures
As part of summer programming at Gaylord Texan, Gaylord Rockies and Gaylord Opryland, guests are invited to take part in specially themed Pirates and Princesses activities. An ideal family adventure, these creatively curated experiences include a Pirates and Princesses Academy interactive show, exciting resort-wide treasure hunts, pirate and princess-inspired arts and crafts and thrilling hidden treasure escape rooms, with pop-up speakeasies featuring themed craft cocktails for the adult family members at select locations. Gaylord Rockies invites guests to take advantage of two summer special treatments, including a 105-minute Detox & Renewal Body Treatment that firms and smooths skin and leaves guests feeling swimsuit ready, and an 80-minute Skin Renewal Facial that restores the skin’s natural balance and energy.
