One of music’s fastest rising stars, Tones And I will perform to more than 25,000 fans at St Jerome’s Laneway Festival tomorrow at the Brisbane Showgrounds with gates opening at 11am.

Tones And I’s single ‘Dance Monkey’ has generated more than a billion streams across all platforms worldwide and remains at No. 1 on Spotify’s daily global rankings, making her the first-ever Australian to achieve this.

The festival will have a total of 31 acts performing across four stages including English pop-rock quartet The 1975, pop powerhouse Charli XCX and singer-songwriter Ruel.

The festival started in 2005 in Melbourne and has built a reputation for showcasing up and coming artists and stars including Lorde who has achieved international success.

In 2010 UK acts Mumford and Sons and Florence and the Machine performed at the festival making their Australian debut, while last year Gang of Youths was the headline act.

The festival has been held at the Brisbane Showgrounds for the past 12 years, with this year expected to be the biggest one yet.

Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said the Showgrounds was Queensland’s home of summer music.

“We’ve been hosting Laneway since 2008, and each year they bring incredible Australian and international music talent,” he said.

“In 2019 the Showgrounds played host to nine major festivals attracting more than150,000 music fans.”

The next major festival at the Showgrounds will be Australia’s biggest under 18 festival – Good Life – featuring international and local artists including The Temple, Famous Dex (USA) and Tigerlily, on February 29.

The 22 hectare Brisbane Showgrounds precinct is located 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD and is Queensland’s largest indoor/outdoor events site.
