Golfasian, one of the most influential players in golf tourism around the region, has joined the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF).

Founded in 1997, Golfasian has been instrumental in the growth in popularity of golf tourism to and from Asia.

Today the company employs more than 100 staff in 11 locations – five in Thailand, three in Vietnam and one each in Bali, Cambodia and Laos – as we’ll as having representative offices in Kuala Lumpur, Siem Reap, and Singapore.

Underpinning its reputation and status is the number of repeat customers and referrals, among Golfasian’s membership base of 162,014 golfers, who are interested in playing in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. In 2017 alone, Golfasian handled 21,530 golf tourists, who played 131,580 rounds.

Mark Siegel, Golfasian’s Founder and Managing Director, said: “Our commitment to operating with the highest standards of service and professionalism, as well as offering and executing full service golf holiday travel experiences, is the reason why Golfasian stands above the rest.

“Through expert golf knowledge from our staff, both on the ground and in our offices, we create tailor-made golf itineraries that are perfectly suited to both individual and group preferences, following a philosophy of unique golf travel experiences as opposed to ‘run of the mill’ golf vacations.

“Because of this, we are the first-choice golf tour operator for golfers and partners who require highly skilled and knowledgeable people who interact daily with golfers visiting all of the destinations we serve.”

Eric Lynge, the AGIF’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Golfasian as a Full Business Member of the Federation.

“Golf tourism is a huge, and growing, part of the golf industry in Asia. In recent years, in particular, we have seen tourism authorities across Asia increasingly understanding the importance of promoting their golfing offerings and dedicating greater resources to doing so.

“For more than 20 years, Mark and his team at Golfasian have been at the forefront of the golf tourism boom in Asia, working successfully with government bodies and many of the region’s premier golf facilities, who are also Members of the AGIF.”

Siegel was a keynote speaker at May’s AGIF-organised Club Management Mini Summit in Ho Chi Minh City where the theme was Growing Golf Tourism in Vietnam.
