Gregory J. Bowles, vice president of global innovation and policy at the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) in Washington, D.C., USA, will serve a three-year term on the ASTM International board of directors.

GAMA fosters the interest of business and general aviation manufacturers globally. In his position, Bowles works with legislators and regulators to enable emerging aviation technologies. He also works to shape and harmonize aviation policy and regulations around the world to enable the success and growth of aviation.

Bowles has been with GAMA since 2005. He previously served as GAMA’s director of European affairs and engineering in Brussels, Belgium. In addition, Bowles has held positions with Keystone Helicopter (now part of Sikorsky) and the Cessna Aircraft Co. (now part of Textron Aviation).

Bowles holds a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and an MBA from Webster University.

In addition to ASTM International, Bowles is an elected fellow with the Royal Aeronautical Society.
