Sydney has officially welcomed its newest, and largest open-air rooftop bar, with the launch of Harper Rooftop Bar in the heart of Sydney today.

Perched high above the city on Level 7 of Kimpton Margot Sydney, Harper Rooftop Bar is a sprawling retreat that mixes contemporary beach-club interiors with relaxed laid-back vibes to deliver the ultimate in feel-good fun.

Designed by FiveFootOneDesign and buzzing with contagious energy and cool tunes, Harper is the perfect destination to meet, chill, drink, eat, dance and connect with friends.

Inviting you to leave behind the daily grind, take the lift to level 7 and be transported to a lush urban sanctuary featuring bright yellow booths, a pastel pink mosaic bar, movable drink stations, vibrant leafy greenery, all alongside a glistening rooftop pool (exclusive to in-house guests).

Inspired by Sydney’s coastal personality, the deliciously fresh food menu by Luke Mangan focuses on simple, local dishes designed for sharing. Hero dishes include East 33 Sydney rock oysters with finger lime, soba salad bowls, chilled prawns with Luke’s cocktail sauce and veal cottoletta with tomato relish. 

The drinks menu at Harper Rooftop boasts a fun, playful selection of carefully curated Signature Cocktails such as Harper’s Double Black (gin, Loomi and citrus sherbet) Summer Holidaze (vodka, pandan, Pinot Grigio and lychee) and the aptly named Barbie Girl Slushie (Rose, raspberry, strawberry and rhubarb) as well as freisling and award-winning wines.

Perfect for all types of showstopping events, Harper Rooftop has capacity for up to 180 people and is the perfect venue for everything from meeting breaks and social gatherings to long table dinners, tailored experiences and exclusive buy-outs that showcase Sydney’s relaxed yet cosmopolitan lifestyle.

Regional Director Food & Beverage for Pro-invest Hotels, Jean-Baptiste Robert, said he is overwhelmed with anticipation and excitement for Sydneysiders and travellers to the city, to experience the new venue.

Chef Luke Mangan, the brainchild behind the venue and menu, said “I’m thrilled to be a part of the Harper Rooftop Bar journey and so pleased with how the space is looking. Our menu celebrates local flavours and the joy of sharing, inviting diners to savour the simple pleasures of life. You’ll see lobster rolls, octopus escabeche, Sydney rock oysters, burrata with peach and fennel, plus some more substantial dishes like my club sandwich and veal cottoletta. Something for everyone to come up and enjoy”.

Harper Rooftop Bar is open Thursday 4pm to 10pm, Friday and Saturday from 12pm to late and on Sundays from 12pm to 10pm and will feature a regular rotation of live music and wellness and lifestyle-centred events.

In-keeping with Kimpton Margot Sydney’s pet policy, pooches are able to enjoy the rooftop alongside their owners, so expect a fun furry line-up of pet friendly events in the coming months.
