Helloworld Business Travel (HWBT) is taking the lead in developing the next generation of leaders by launching the annual Aspiring Leaders Scholarship.

The scholarship supported by United Airlines and the Travel Industry Mentor Experience (TIME) will open the door for one talented HWBT network member to grow their career each year.

The recipient will continue to develop professionally with the opportunity to be mentored by a senior ranking travel industry leader through the TIME program, which was established to help ambitious and aspiring leaders to accelerate their careers in the Travel, Tourism, Hospitality and Aviation industries.

The scholarship holder will also attend the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) convention in Denver from 25-29 July, the largest annual gathering of business professionals in the world.

Thanks to United Airlines, flights to and from Denver are included onboard the United Polaris® business class service.

Helloworld Business Travel National Sales Manager, Sharon Stanley, said she is thrilled with the new initiative and is looking forward to engaging with aspiring leaders in the network.

“We’re excited to be launching the Aspiring Leaders Scholarship to our Helloworld Business Travel network,” Ms Stanley said.

“It’s an opportunity for Helloworld Business Travel to help support and encourage the next generation of business travel leaders within the network; a role we feel is important for us to play in the travel industry.”

Helloworld Travel Limited Air Contracting Manager and TIME Mentee, Belinda Murphy, expressed how valuable the program has been to her career and personal development.

“Even after nearly 30 years in the industry, from my mentorship I have learned so much about myself and my potential. I cannot recommend the TIME program enough to industry colleagues, as well as the structured mentoring sessions, TIME offers fantastic networking opportunities and the chance to connect with industry peers beyond your day to day contacts,” Ms Murphy said.

Applications are now open to the Helloworld Business Travel network and will close on 31 March 2020.
