Hertz Australia has collaborated with Tickford, Australia’s leading aftermarket vehicle personalisation company, to customise a limited number of Mustangs in its fleet. The collaboration also pays homage to the limited-edition Shelby GT350H that Shelby created for Hertz over 50 years ago in 1966.
Hertz has worked with Tickford to customise six of the American classics. The customisation sees the latest model Mustang receive Tickford’s special treatment in various areas of the car including suspension, wheels and tyres, interior and exterior aesthetics.
Each Hertz Mustang has undergone a transformation at the Melbourne Tickford Enhancement Centre, where specialist technicians’ work for hours to bring the distinctive design to life.
Rod Nash, Tickford Managing Director, commented, “The 1966 Shelby GT350H created for Hertz was an instant hit with Hertz customers, and we’re thrilled to bring it back as a limited edition Tickford enhancement package. It’s also exciting that people can rent a Tickford customised vehicle from Hertz, which has had the HTZ-66 package applied.
“Tickford enhanced Mustangs are designed for Australian roads, using Tickford suspension which provides superior handling with a sporty drive. The wheels match the gold side stripes and, under the bonnet, all vehicles are identified by a Tickford enhanced build plate. It’s the perfect tribute to the classic Shelby but with modern performance technology.”

The upgraded, Tickford-engineered, matched set of coil overs and dampers suspension provides a 25mm lowered stance and greater handling characteristics. The car rides on exclusive race-inspired and lightweight matte bronze wheels shod with Michelin Sport 4S tyres.
Inside, Tickford enhance the steering wheel, making it thicker using quality handstitched Alcantara and leather and with a gold centre-line marker and Tickford enhanced badges. Externally, Tickford install a replica of the GT350H decals with gold stripes on the bonnet, roof and boot, and sides.
Mustang enthusiasts can also purchase the ‘Tickford-Hertz Pack’ (HTZ-66) to customise their own Mustangs, creating their own ‘throwback’ to the classic, sporty style of the 60s Shelby.
Available to rent now, each Hertz HTZ-66 Mustang can be identified by the side decal branding and gold stripes, and their unique build number plate.
